“Peter Schiff calculated that a house making $250,000 pays 40% of its income in federal income taxes, while that household’s counterpart in the ’50s paid only 22%. Even the lower brackets are paying more. The lowest tax rate for married couples in 1950 amounted to $38,321 today, while now, the lowest bracket is $17,000 — a $21,321 increase in income subject to taxation. Both the effective tax rate at median income and taxes as a percentage of personal income are higher today than they were in the ’50s.”
Economics aren’t a strong point of the left; only emotionally appealing bumper sticker talking points.
Video: Des Moines coffee-shop owner evicts Occupy protesters; ‘You’re not allowed to ever come back’
“On Friday morning before a planned event appearance by Newt Gingrich, some members of “Occupy Iowa” made a stop at Java Joe’s, a coffee shop here that MSNBC has been broadcasting from.”
Free speech to the left means shutting down others rights.
“Four protesters, including the spokesman of Occupy Charlotte, were charged after setting fire to two American flags early Friday near the Occupy camp in Center City, police said.”
Don’t think there was any flag burning at the Tea Party events, but who cares.
“In 2010, the Girl Scouts of the USA published a book called “MEdia.” The publication, designed for girls in grades six through eight, is a guide that apparently offers insight into how young people should process and understand the media messages surrounding them.”
Media Matters is a George Soros funded campaign to attack just about everything on Fox News. A juvenile and very biased leftist website for those who don’t know. Indoctrination starts early for the Girl Scouts.
“Selfish, arrogant, and stupid. That’s what adolescents and the Occupy movement have in common.’
They don’t clean up after themselves then expect others to pay for it.
“Back in the day, the Tea Party’s alleged lack of black participants was beyond worrisome to the media. The lack of black faces in the crowd allowed the major media to describe the Tea Party as racially exclusionary, if not … racist!”
The most obvious of all media bias examples.
“In other words, the Nobel Prize truly matched its namesake: Alfred Nobel invented dynamite. Krugman regularly throws rhetorical dynamite at anything that stands in the way of his radical worldview.”
Thug is an accurate description.
So Obama thinks his record so far–nearly three years, not just two–stacks up favorably against any president with the “possible exceptions” of Lyndon Johnson, FDR, and Abraham Lincoln. The man is simply delusional.
“But rather than lead, Obama prefers to straddle. He wants to delay a decision until after the November 2012 election, to avoid offending either Big Labor or the environmental movement. If he can slither quietly between the two, Obama reckons, his reelection prospects grow.”
Remember, our President says he doesn’t make “political” decisions.
“Were Keynes alive now, he would almost certainly acknowledge the limits of Keynesian policies. High debt complicates the analysis and subverts the solutions. What might have worked in the 1930s offers no panacea today.”
Memo to Pelosi and Krugman.
“The unemployment insurance extension is not only good for individuals. It has a macroeconomic impact. As macroeconomic advisers have stated, it would make a difference of 600,000 jobs to our economy,” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi D-CA said at a briefing on Capitol Hill.”
These are the people running the show for us. No understanding of the economy.
“If the applicant had a 1240 SAT score and a 3.2 GPA, he had a 92 percent chance of admission if black and 88 percent if Latino. If white, he had only a 14 percent chance, and if Asian, a 10 percent chance.”
How does this fit with Obama’s fairness meter?
“The Obama information collection effort is cast under the mischievous guise of asking Obama supporters to “have a little fun at the expense of a Republican in your life” by signing them up to get an email from the Obama campaign ribbing them for having “inspired” the Obama supporter to donate.”
“The policies that got us into this mess included primarily the so-called “affordable housing policies” Obama himself and other Democrats long advocated, with the government forcing the banks by overregulation to drop their traditional lending standards to provide loans and mortgages to low and moderate income applicants who could not qualify under those traditional standards.”
“Maybe the DNC should consider having a chair who has some connection to reality. But what fun would that be for the rest of us?”
Head of the DNC. Complete airhead.
