“Regulatory and policy uncertainties in recent months created significant near-term excess supply and price erosion,” Solyndra CEO Brian Harrison said in a statement. “Raising incremental capital in this environment was not possible. This was an unexpected outcome and is most unfortunate.”
Not profitable in the real world.
“None of the Big Three networks evening programs on Tuesday- ABC’s World News, CBS Evening News, or NBC Nightly News- covered Rep. Carson’s snipe at the Tea Party. The following morning, none of their morning show covered it either.”
Nothing to see here folks, please move along.
“A key element to the GOP jobs agenda will be identifying and eliminating federal regulations that are needlessly burdening business owners and in many cases preventing them from hiring new employees. To that end, House committee chairmen have put together a list of “the 10 most harmful job-destroying regulations,” and plan to take action over the coming weeks and months to repeal or forestall these restrictive measures.”
What? Destroy the nice handywork of the bureaucrats?
“The cult of experts has acolytes in all ideological camps, but its most institutionalized following is on the left. The Left needs to believe in the authority of experts because without that authority, almost no economic intervention can be justified. ”
“President Obama’s post-Labor Day “jobs” speech will be his last chance to launch an economic policy with any chance of manifesting its effect – both economic and political – before the November 2012 elections. He has three options. In order of descending likelihood, they are: a timid hodgepodge of previous proposals, a bold left-of-center initiative or a turn to a free-market “nuclear option.””
“A top lawmaker in the Congressional Black Caucus says tea partiers on Capitol Hill would like to see African-Americans hanging from trees and accuses the movement of wishing for a return to the Jim Crow era.”
The CPC is making themselves irrelevant and foolish. Always deflecting their problems onto others.
“But agents were often told to abandon surveillance of the weapons, allowing them — and the straw buyers — to disappear, according to testimony from numerous agents before the House. The only remaining hope for agents to track the guns was if other agencies found them at a murder scene or during a drug raid and they could compare the serial numbers on the found guns with the recorded numbers on the guns sold during the operation. ”
Who is ultimately responsible? Where is the media?
We found out wherethe number 2.5 million jobs’ created or saved’ comes from. It comes from a formula. The formula comes from a theory. The formula says that for every dollar the government spends, 1.5 dollars’ worth of economic activity is generated, and presto, jobs come out. The economic geniuses working for Obama want us to believe that by definition, since they spent almost a trillion dollars in ‘stimulus’, they automatically created 2.4 million jobs. This is called the multiplier effect.”
A theory? Economists from ivory white towers don’t have to live with their decision making; others do.
“The longer-term price any society pays for a public old-age-pension system is lower birth rates. Farmers had large families in order to provide additional labor during their working years and sources of income for their dotage. So did factory workers a century ago.”
An incredible 38 people were arrested in connection with this campaign of racist violence. Thirty were ultimately charged, all black. Has this number of arrests been made against any violent white supremacist or right wing organization in the last 50 years?”
Let’s have that conversation Eric Holder. And, where is the Southern Poverty Center? Media AWOL again?
“But this last in-your-face Martha’s Vineyard vacation was one too many even for our most adroit gymnast of identity and class politics: The public at last really does believe that Barack Obama, whatever his heritage or nomenclature, is an out-of-touch elitist who simply likes hanging out with wealthy people and shares their refined tastes, even as millions are out of work or broke. This summer all the old SEIU talk about “fat cats” and “corporate jets” has been reduced to a parlor game.”
“Government intervention may look good to the media but its actual track record — both today and in the 1930s — is far worse than the track record of letting the economy recover on its own.”
Just get out of the way. Ivy league elites just can’t understand this.
“The response is classic Obama: patronizing, dishonest, syntactically muddled, and grammatically challenged. In the very first sentence Obama leads with his signature failing, one on full display in his earlier published work: his inability to make subject and predicate agree.”
Who cares? Certainly not the media.
“If you want businesses to start hiring at a faster pace, Washington needs to say to employers A) we will not raise your taxes B) we will not make you pay a ton more for your employees’ health insurance C) we will not make you pay a ton more for energy costs through either cap and trade or new EPA regulations on energy production.”
Common sense except to an ideologue.
“The science is now all-but-settled on global warming, convincing new evidence demonstrates, but Al Gore, the IPCC and other global warming doomsayers won’t be celebrating. The new findings point to cosmic rays and the sun — not human activities — as the dominant controller of climate on Earth.”
Does Al Gore know this?
