“The Obama administration said Monday it is suspending existing agreements with Arizona police over enforcement of federal immigration laws, and said it has issued a directive telling federal authorities to decline many of the calls reporting illegal immigrants that the Homeland Security Department may get from Arizona police.”
Obama ignoring the US Constitution, a Supreme Court decision and separation of powers.
“When subsequently pressed by Hispanic groups to simply implement the law by executive action, Obama explained that it would be illegal. “Now, I know some people want me to bypass Congress and change the laws on my own. . . . But that’s not how our system works. That’s not how our democracy functions. That’s not how our Constitution is written.”
“That was then. Now he’s gone and done it anyway. It’s obvious why. The election approaches and his margin is slipping. He needs a big Hispanic vote and this is the perfect pander.”
Our little dictator.
“but the real gravity of what Obama has done lies not in the subject matter of his edict but in the authoritarian assumptions of its issuance. They transcend mere arrogance: the president proposes to eviscerate our constitutional system. He claims nothing less than the dictatorial power to pronounce what the law is.”
Our little dictator.
‘After noting the separation-of-powers issues, Obama said that there are many immigration laws on the books and “that for me to simply, through executive order, ignore [them] would not conform with my appropriate role as president.”
Another evolving position and abuse of power.
“And I think this is not how you run a constitutional Republic. This ought to be in the hands of Congress, and it is an end-run. Whats ironic of course is for eight years, the Democrats have been screaming about the imperial presidency with the Bush administration, the nonsense about the unitary executive. This is out-and-out lawlessness.”
Obama’s instincts are similar to Chavez.
“Federal authorities said Wednesday that they plan to sue Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio and his office over allegations of civil rights violations, including the racial profiling of Latinos.”
Sheriff Arpaio can respond when Eric Holder responds to his subpoena over fast and furious.
“Authors of the Pew report call the stunning shift in migration patterns historic. Not since the Great Depression, they say, has a shift of this magnitude occurred along the U.S.-Mexico border. Not since the Great Depression?”
And the experts said they wouldn’t self deport.
“At one time, immigrants came to America to become Americans. Today, the apostles of multiculturalism and grievance-mongering have done their best to keep foreigners foreign and, if possible, feeling aggrieved. Our own schools and colleges teach grievances.”
Multiculturalism destroys cultures. Nations that don’t protect their own sovereinty lose it.
“When the president presented his deficit-cutting plan last week, he included measures that will drive up drug prices and squash investment in companies that develop drugs and medical devices, said John Castellani, president of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA).
The industry is especially fuming over Mr. Obama’s push to reduce the length of time a company can produce biologic drugs exclusively by paring the patent protection time frame from 12 years down to seven.”
I guess they must know better than people who actually run the business.
“In the last five years, some 2.3 million illegal immigrants decided they, too, were “entitled” to that money, and the IRS paid them. Word got out and the payouts to illegals grew fourfold over the last five years.
The Treasury report noted that paying these credits to illegals is explicitly prohibited by U.S. law, which holds that those unauthorized to work here cannot receive federal benefits.”
Big bureaucracies and fraud go hand in hand. Does our government even care? The IRA says it lacks authority and we can’t seem to be able to inquire about their legal status.
“I protect all workers here in this country,” she told The Daily Caller at a breakfast hosted by The Christian Science Monitor. “I have a vested interest in protecting all workers that work here in the U.S. Period.”
U.S. citizens on equal status with illegals? Just what does citizenship mean anyway?
“They were responsible for their own actions and idiosyncrasies. But presidents are responsible for upholding the nation’s laws, even if they are violated by presidential relatives.”
Obama’s father was kicked out of this country, why not these two?
“It’s against the rule of law for benefits to be given out to people here without legal status,” Sen. Doug La Malfa (R-Richvale) said in an interview. “People are just insulted. The state is out of money and we are opening a new door here for more funds to be expended.”
A nightmare for everyone else. Illegals over US citizens?
“If you look at immigrants from Mexico, they register 3-to-1 Democrat, so the Democratic Party is for easy citizenship and allowing them to vote,” says Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky.”
The Democrat way; bypass the electorate, go straight to the courts or legislate via fiat.
“The move comes amid criticism from rights activists of President Barack Obama’s administration for deporting a record number of illegal immigrants and failing to get Congress to pass comprehensive immigration reform.”
Politics before country.
