“In his quarterly review to Congress, a top government adviser accused the U.S. military of glossing over the issue, just months before soldiers are due to leave the country.”
This place is not worth nor deserve American blood. Either win it or get out.
“The “limited magnitude” of both debt plans put forward by congressional leaders would not put the nations AAA credit rating back on solid footing, Moodys Investors Service announced Friday.
The report also gives credence to a claim popular among Republicans: that the government has enough cash to avoid a default even past the Aug. 2 deadline set by the Treasury Department.”
The bigger issue that’s not even being addressed.
“President Barack Obama’s approval rating sank to a new low Friday, according to Gallup’s daily presidential tracking poll.
Just 40 percent of Americans say they approve of Obama’s performance as president. That is down three percentage points from Thursday. 50 percent say they do not approve of the job he is doing.”
Memo to MSNBC
“The demonstration in Cairo’s Tahrir Square, one of the largest since President Hosni Mubarak was toppled in February, reaffirmed the power of the Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamist organizations that amassed tens of thousands of supporters. It comes as weeks of protests have convulsed the country and polarized political parties whose true agendas are emerging.
“The people want an Islamic state,” Islamists chanted while outnumbered secular demonstrators watched from the sidelines in a square streaked with religious banners and echoing with loudspeakers.”
But the leftist media told us the revolution was for democracy and that Muslim Brotherhood was secularist and peaceful.
“Yesterday’s move, a day after Boston Scientific disclosed it was investing $150 million and hiring 1,000 people in China, raised fears that the company will gradually shift more work to foreign sites with less government oversight and lower costs than the United States.”
Another Obamacare casualty.
“You know, the problem with this is its like a form of economic terrorism. I imagine these Tea Party guys are like strapped with dynamite, standing in the middle of Times Square at rush hour and saying, either you do it my way, or were going to blow you up, ourselves up, and the whole country up with us. So you tell me how those kinds of standoffs end.”
Really amazing to tune into MSNBC and watch the hysterical bashing of the Tea Party. Like taking drugs away from an addict. So much for the Presidents call for civility.
“The unemployment situation across America is bad, no doubt. But for African-Americans in some cities, this is not the great recession. It’s the Great Depression.”
Will probably still vote 95% for Obama.
“That raised questions on the long held view by both Federal Reserve officials and independent economists that the slowdown in growth this year was mostly due to transitory factors.
The U.S. economy in the first quarter expanded at just a 0.4 percent pace, a sharp downward revision from the previously reported 1.9 percent increase. While the recovery stepped-up in the second quarter, economists had expected a stronger 1.9 percent reading.”
These are very weak numbers. Almost in a recession.
“The warning hit Spanish debt. In early trade Friday, the yield on Spains 10-year government bond was up 1.7 percentage points to 6.136%. The spread between this Spanish bond and similar German debt widened to 354.2 basis points.”
Will the U.S. follow?
“If all Reid does is vote to kill the Boehner plan, however, then nothing can happen. Reid wants to bully the House into doing his work. The House should tell Reid to do his job rather than worry about doing theirs. If Democrats never plan to make a proposal, then they should just pass Boehner 1.1, and Republicans should call a halt to any further efforts until Democrats start taking their responsibilities seriously.”
Where’s the President and the Democratic Senate plan?
“As soon as the House completes its vote, the Senate will move to take up that bill,” Reid said, “and it will be defeated tonight.”
And then they will take up Reid’s bill?
“All this can be avoided if the House passes the Boehner plan today—and Boehner insists that the Senate pass it, and the president sign it. If he holds firm, they will. This will be a modest victory for Republicans, but a major defeat for Obama. And we can then have this debate all over again in four to six months—which keeps spending cuts on the political front burner, and helps set up the next election as a referendum on the way forward for reducing our debt. Conservatives can win such a referendum. If they do, they will get the reinforcements they need on Capitol Hill to pass “Cut, Cap, and Balance”—and a conservative president who will sign it into law. If the Boehner plan fails today, all that may be at risk.”
Playbook and consequences.
“NASA satellite data from the years 2000 through 2011 show the Earth’s atmosphere is allowing far more heat to be released into space than alarmist computer models have predicted, reports a new study in the peer-reviewed science journal Remote Sensing. The study indicates far less future global warming will occur than United Nations computer models have predicted, and supports prior studies indicating increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide trap far less heat than alarmists have claimed.”
Does Al Gore know this?
“Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a House member from Florida and Chairperson of the Democratic National Committee, has publicly accused House Republicans of seeking to impose a dictatorship in America.”
Sorry Debbie, but Bush is no longer President. We now have THE ONE.
“But to deny we have a spending problem is what every Democrat secretly believes in their heart of hearts. The problem is, if they said something like that on the campaign trail, they’d never see Washington again.”
The level of ignorance is astounding.
